The photographs show a full property renovation as requested by the client. The property was in a bad state of repair and needed everything attending to from the roof to the floor.

1. The Property Renovation Company began by stripping back all the internal elements of the cottage and in doing so found some wonderful original timberwork, which we subsequently treated and exposed.

2. We took down the chimney on the Gable end to increase internal bedroom and kitchen space.

3. We worked on the layout to enable the introduction of a first floor toilet and shower room.

4. The roof was stripped back, completely renovated and then re-tiled using all the original materials.

5. The ceiling and floor joists were all replaced to enable the living space to remain on the same level on both the ground floor and the first floor.

6. A bespoke ash staircase was installed on our recommendation, using the client’s choice of timber.

7. We went on to expose the chimney in the second bedroom and opened up the fireplace in the lounge to reveal the original fireplace with Bressumer. The bricks we salvaged from under the kitchen floor were cleaned and re-laid as the new fire-hearth.

The end product is an outstanding 2 bedroom home, sensitively renovated with careful use of original features and materials.

Our client said:
“As the owners of Wood Farm Cottage we had become concerned about its condition and explained our plans to The Property Renovation Company to improve the property. When work started we soon discovered that it was going to be a bigger job than we first anticipated, and we became quite concerned about the project. We need not have worried because Mr Allen said this is just the sort of job he enjoyed! We decided to let him take complete charge of all decisions and we are delighted with the final result. Therefore we would recommend The Property Renovation Company to do a very good job of any future building work we might consider.”
